If you recall correctly, you'll notice that I briefly mentioned something about "MACH SPEED" in my translated version of the Rule Manual. Well, the time has finally come to unveil what the heck it is!

An enhanced version of High Speed, MACH SPEED (Original Japanese: 烈神速 Resshinsoku, "Bursting Godspeed") doubles as both a quick summon during Flash Timing and major core recovery, allowing you to regain all the Cores in your Trash at the same time! This is just one of several new features that await you in the 90(+3)-card sixteenth set of Battle Spirits, SUPREME HEROES SAGA, Chapter III ~Bursting Path of Champions~ [覇王編第三章「爆烈の覇道」HAOUHEN, Daisanshou "Bakuretsu no Hadou"] (46 Commons/18 Uncommons/12 Rares/8 Master Rares/6 X-Rares + 3 Extra Promos; released 09 March 2012), among them Lord Dragon's new enhanced form and major support for Supreme Hero Spirits. Not to mention the long list of Chinese cultural references coming out the wazoo... Good grief... Razz

Anyhow, please enjoy the set. Smile

***RUBY SPIRITS***

[BS16-001] NODEPPO {2} -1R
Nodeppo
(ノデッポ Nodeppo)
Common Ruby Spirit [R] Emperor Beast
Level 1 <1>: 1000BP, Level 2 <3>: 3000BP

When Summoned (Lv. 1-2): When you have a Burst Card set on your Field, destroy one enemy Spirit with 3000BP or less.
How much time has passed since I defeated the final Oblivion Deity? I've been hearing discouraging rumors lately. The people of the Flame Shield Nation, who know full well the pain and suffering of having their lands invaded, are now invading other countries according to these sources...! What is Kei doing right now? I must get myself fully recovered and fast!
—————
[BS16-002] PILE DRACO {2} -2R
Piledraco
(パイルドラコ Pairudorako)
Common Ruby Spirit [R] Reptile Beast
Level 1 <1>: 1000BP, Level 2 <2>: 3000BP

When this card is discarded from your deck due to the effects of an enemy Spirit, destroy said enemy Spirit. In addition, your deck cannot be milled (forced to discard cards) for the duration of this turn.
"To the pacifist civilians of Flame Shield, Manaka and the Dragon Hero have become almost like objects of worship. All of Enjun started going berserk once they lost the two of them at the same time, but it's still ironic and sad that they had much more active and positive lives in their pacifist days." —Authentic History: Chronicles of Manaka the Dragon Knight, Year 644 AGR—
—————
[BS16-003] KAMAPAGOS {3} -1R
Kamapagos
(カマパゴス Kamapagosu)
Common Ruby Spirit [R] Great General/Reptile Beast
Level 1 <1>: 2000BP, Level 2 <3>: 4000BP, Level 3 <5>: 6000BP

When This Spirit Attacks (Lv. 2-3): You can choose a target enemy Spirit in the refreshed position to attack.
Healing my wounds is taking longer than I thought. I miss having "Broth-Boiled Goradon," my hometown's famous dish.
<<Name Origin (Fusion): "Galápagos Giant Tortoise" (Geochelone nigra) +
"Kama" [Japanese: "cauldron," "iron pot;" likely a reference to Ishikawa Goemon's death penalty (see [BS16-005] Goemon Thief Dragon)]>>
<<Translator's Note: The "Broth-Boiled Goradon" (
釜揚げゴラドン Kama'age Goradon in the original Japanese) seen in the flavor text is a cross-reference between [BS01-001] Goradon and 釜揚げ饂飩 "kama'age-udon," thick Japanese udon noodles dipped in a hot broth served in a pot. This would imply not only that Goradon is a local delicacy in Flame Shield, but that Kamapagos itself is possibly used to cook said meal.>>

—————
[BS16-004] ASHIGARYU {3} -2R
Ashigaryu
(アシガリュー Ashigaryuu)
Common Ruby Spirit [R] Dragon
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <3>: 7000BP

"No one knows if Manaka the 'Godslaying Hero' survived in his battles. If the rest of the world simply teamed up and fought against the Oblivion Gods together, surely this costly sacrifice could have been avoided, right? It was exactly at this moment that Kei decided to unite the Six Shield Nations as one, with Anjun (Dark Shield) being the first target for her campaign." —Authentic History: Chronicles of Supreme Ruler Kei, Year 644 AGR—
<<Name Origin (Fusion):
足軽 "Ashigaru" (Japanese, "lowest samurai," "foot soldier") + "Ryuu" (Japanese, "dragon")>>

Goemon-Thief-Dragon
(ゴエモン・シーフ・ドラゴン Goemon-Shiifu-Doragon)
Rare Ruby Burst Spirit [R] Supreme Hero/Warrior Dragon
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <2>: 5000BP, Level 3 <4>: 7000BP

BURST TRIGGER: After Your Opponent Activates a "When This Spirit/Brave is Summoned" Effect
When you have "Supreme Hero" or "Great General" Attribute Spirits on your Field, summon this Spirit while ignoring the Core Cost.

(Flash Timing) During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 2-3): Choose one of your "Supreme Hero" or "Great General" Attribute Spirits on the Field. By discarding one Ruby Card from your hand, turn whatever Gem Symbol(s) your target Spirit may have into two Ruby Gem Symbols ("[RR]") for the duration of this battle.
It looks like the chief of scouting patrol is personally searching for me.
{Hero Motif & Name Origin:
石川五右衛門 "Ishikawa Goemon" (1558 – 08 October 1594); a "feudal Japanese Robin Hood" of sorts, this semi-legendary outlaw hero stole gold and other valuables to give to the poor; notable for being boiled alive along with his son in public (see [BS16-003] Kamapagos) after a failed assassination attempt on the civil-war era warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi; current Japanese popular culture often portrays his likeness and legend with greatly exaggerated ninja skills}

(アーチャー・ドラゴン Aachaa-Doragon)
Uncommon Ruby Spirit [R] Warrior Dragon
Level 1 <1>: 4000BP, Level 2 <3>: 6000BP, Level 3 <5>: 8000BP

You can move any number of Cores on your Spirits and place them on this Spirit.

(Flash Timing) During Each Attack Phase (Lv. 2-3): Destroy one enemy Spirit with 4000BP or less by sending two Cores from this Spirit to your Trash.
"There were many who opposed the campaign in the Dark Shield Nation." —Authentic History: Chronicles of Supreme Ruler Kei, Year 644 AGR—
—————
[BS16-007] OGRE DRAGON {5} -3R
Ogre-Dragon
(オーガ・ドラゴン Ooga-Doragon)
Common Ruby Spirit [R] Great General/Winged Dragon
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <3>: 6000BP

When Summoned (Lv. 1-2): You may reveal the top three cards of your deck. Choose one card that has Burst Trigger effects from among the revealed cards to add to your hand, then return the remaining cards to the bottom of your deck in any order you wish.
During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 2): All of your Spirits with "Dragon" in their names gain +2000BP.
The one who came to meet me was an old subordinate of mine, only now he has grown into a grand and excellent warrior. He gave me arguably the most unbelievable news: Kei has hired a new staff officer to her ranks, and his name is... Zeyon? That traitor?!
<<Concept Origin:
赤鬼 "Akaoni the Red Ogre," one of two demon antagonists from the island of Onigashima featured in the Japanese folktale "Momotarou the Peach Boy;" the flavor text implies that this Spirit is a mature version of [SD06-001] Ohdoran>>

"Manaka was confirmed to still be alive, but he was found in the enemy's ranks." —Authentic History: Chronicles of Supreme Ruler Kei, Year 645 AGR—
—————
[BS16-009] REPTILIAN BEASTMASTER MOMOCHI DILE {7} -5R
The ReptileMaster Momochidile
(爬獣使い百地ダイル Hajuu-Tsukai Momochi-Dairu)
Uncommon Ruby Spirit [R] Great General/Reptile Beast
Level 1 <1>: 5000BP, Level 2 <3>: 9000BP, Level 3 <6>: 12,000BP

During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 1-2-3): Besides "Reptilian Beastmaster Momochi Dile," treat the Level 1, 2, and 3 Battle Point amounts of all of your "Reptile Beast" Attribute Spirits as having the exact same amounts as this Spirit's Levels.
After Activating a Burst Card (Lv. 2-3): Summon as many "Reptile Beast" Attribute Spirits as you wish from your Trash to the Field without paying their Core Costs.
"The one who was stationed at the Ice Shield's borders was a general said to able to turn a hundred 'docile lambs' (average joes) into 'ferocious lions' (fearsome warriors)." —Authentic History: Chronicles of Supreme Ruler Kei, Year 644 AGR—
<<Name Origin (Fusion): "Crocodile" +
百地 丹波 "Momochi Tamba" (a.k.a. 百地 三太夫 "Momochi Sandayuu," 1512 – 1581?), a jounin (上忍 = advanced-level ninja) during the Sengoku Period of Japan; said to be the founder of the Iga style of ninjutsu>>

Battle Spirits JPN Set 16: SUPREME HEROES SAGA, Chapter III ~Bursting Path of Champions~ [COMPLETE!!] Empty Re: Battle Spirits JPN Set 16: SUPREME HEROES SAGA, Chapter III ~Bursting Path of Champions~ [COMPLETE!!]

Japanese Set 16 is at last complete! And just in time to start work on Set 22... Whoopee~ Razz

I'd say I made major improvements on the dual Gem Color transitions for Spirit names compared to my "trial-and-error" methods in the past. Who would have thought that simply balancing out hexadecimal color values would present such beautiful results?

Continuing the saga of legendary mythic heroes-turned-Spirits, Set 17 will be next in line as World Champion Arata Yakushiji ("Battle Spirits: Heroes" anime) presents his newest ace Spirit—Sieg-Yamato-Dragon's third stage!! Also, Topaz Spirits get a new Keyword ability, and more Braves with Burst Trigger effects join the first three shown above! Finally, it's Lord Dragon's turn to embrace the dark side...?! A "World of Dancing Blades" awaits you! For now, I'll need to get cracking on the most recent set... Enjoy Set 16, and I'll see you in Set 22! PEACE! Cool

Next Request in Queue: >> [BS17] "World of Dancing Blades"
