It's been a while since I came to the forums (phone bills once again), and I'm sorry this had to happen just when I promised to work more often on these cards... But I'M BACK, and we've got a new set to cover, so let's do this! Cool 

ULTIMATE BATTLE 01, Battle Spirits' twenty-fourth expansion set, is a massive 122-card set released 26 October 2013 (72 Commons, 18 Uncommons, 16 Rares, 8 Master Rares, 2 X-Rare Spirits, and 6 X-Rare Ultimates + 2 Extra Promo X-Rares) that features an all-new fifth card type into the equation: "Ultimates"! Before we go into this set's cards, here are some key facts you should know about the new guys on the block:

* There will be several Ultimates for every Gem Color, X-Rares included.
* Ultimates are distinguished with golden foil patterns on their cards.
* Ultimates are summoned to the Field with the same methods as Spirits (pay the Cost with your Cores, which can be made cheaper through Core Cost Reduction), but they have an additional summoning requirement, usually having at least a Spirit of the same Gem Color as your Ultimate on the Field. If this requirement is not fulfilled, you cannot summon your Ultimate.
* As a separate card type, Ultimates are not the same as Spirits.
* Because of this, special abilities that target Spirits cannot affect Ultimates. The special effects of your cards must specifically state that they affect Ultimates or else it does not work.
* This means that most if not all of the Gem-Color-specific abilities from the past—EVOLUTION, RAGE, CURSE, IMMORTALITY, HIGH SPEED, WINDSTORM, INVINCIBILITY, ICEWALL, CHARGE and RUSH in particular—will all be rendered ineffective against an Ultimate (unless explicitly stated otherwise). Keep in mind, however, that Ultimates can be affected by abilities that affect any cards in general (non-targeting) outside of the Field.
* Again, Ultimates are not Spirits, therefore you cannot fuse a Brave to an Ultimate.
* All Ultimates possess a unique golden Gem Symbol ("{U}"); this Symbol is incompatible for Core Cost Reduction on other cards.
* All Ultimates start off with "Battle Level 3" as their lowest level.
* Ultimates have an exclusive keyword ability called "Ultimate Trigger" that usually occurs during battle. When your Ultimate attacks, your opponent must reveal and discard the top card of his/her deck. If the discarded card has a lower Core Cost than your Ultimate card does, it is considered a "HIT", and your Ultimate Trigger immediately activates. If your rival's card has the same Core Cost as or is higher than your Ultimate's, then that is called a "GUARD" where your Ultimate Trigger does not go through and play resumes as normal.

Phew... That's a lot of info to digest... Hopefully that leaves you adequately equipped to enter into Battle Spirits' new Golden Age! And before I forget, be on the sharp eye out for another new keyword ability: "SPIRIT SOUL," which lets certain Spirits gain another Gem Symbol when Ultimates are around! I believe that at least more than half of the members of our team should pay closer attention to the Amethyst Region. That area is taking the fiercest assaults from the Ultimates, yet the inhabitants have the most efficient countermeasures to control the amount of damage. I've been told that the Ogre Wizards who live in the area possess the strength to make this possible. Places that suffer the most damage should get top priority in our mission....

You can't tell at first glance, but his character is very much like a Snake's—always having a negative outlook on every situation and life in general. It's almost as if his own life was "cursed"....

The Emerald Region suffered minimal damage from the Ultimates' assault. There are very little signs of any settlements in this region since, apparently, the people are nomadic, constantly moving from place to place. How unproductive.

What shocked us all upon our arrival was how bright and cheery the Topaz citizens still were after all that has happened.

Whew... That X-Rare Spirits & Ultimates section took so long to edit, I got booted off before I could post the final product! Razz Thankfully, I worked around that setback, and Set #24 is finally complete! Sadly, it doesn't look like I'll have enough time to touch on Supreme Heroes Saga, Chapter V (Set #18) because a bunch of new starter decks and structure booster packs are set to release next week (Not to mention the Battle Spirits website is already previewing cards for Set #25 coming next month)! Surprised 

Suffice to say, it'll be a busy few weeks ahead for me, so enjoy the new cards, and I'll be seeing y'all real soon! Smile
