Konnichi-wa, everyone! Today, we'll delve into the second starter set.

Released barely a month after Japanese Set 06 "BAKUSHIN (爆神) ~Clash of the Deities~", ROARING HEAVEN'S DOOR [轟天のヘヴンズドア Gouten no Hevunzu-Doa, 10 December 2009] is a 44-card Sapphire/Topaz splash deck with 21 different cards (13 Commons/5 Uncommons/2 Rares/1 Master Rare). Spell Cards featured in Battle Spirits: Shounen Gekiha Dan will make an appearance in this deck, Clacky's Wing Boots among them. The key spirit featured in this deck is Löwen the Roaring Swordsmaster, a valiant ferocious lion able to take out up to five Spirits just by being summoned to the Field...! Shocked

This post will feature all the Topaz cards in the deck.

[SD02-001] PUXIANG THE STRANGE BEAST {1} -1T
The MysteriousBeast Pooxan
(奇獣プーシャン Kijuu Puushan)
Common Topaz Spirit [T] Imaginary Beast
Level 1 <1>: 1000BP, Level 2 <2>: 2000BP, Level 3 <4>: 3000BP

(Lv. 2-3): Treat this Spirit as if it were a Sapphire Spirit.
These guys are such scaredy-cats, they turn blue almost instantly when surprised! Apparently, Rolo wants to test this. This cannot bode well...
<<Translator's Note: This Spirit's name most likely is derived from the Mandarin Chinese "pu xiang," which could be interpreted as "general resemblance" (the two creatures on the card can pass themselves for twins).>>
—————
[SD02-002] MISAAL {2} -2T
Misaal
(ミザール Mizaaru)
Common Topaz Spirit [T] Imaginary Beast
Level 1 <1>: 2000BP, Level 2 <3>: 3000BP

When This Spirit Blocks (Lv. 1-2): Exhaust all Spirits on the Field with the same Core Cost as the attacking Spirit.
"It was a desperate battle. Even when trying to restrain them, the difference in power was just too great." ——Rolo the Wanderer, Otherrealm Observation Records: Topaz Chapter, Section 10
<<Name Origin: mizaru (見ざる, Japanese: "do not see"); the first of the "See/Hear/Say-No-Evil" Monkey Spirit series>>
—————
[SD02-003] DYNAMIS THE ANGEL {3} -2T
The Angelia Dunamis
(天使デュナミス Tenshi Dyunamisu)
Common Topaz Spirit [T] Divine Spirit/Imaginary Beast
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <2>: 4000BP, Level 3 <3>: 5000BP

When This Spirit Blocks (Lv. 1-2-3): If this battle ends when this Spirit blocks an opposing 2-Cost-or-lower Spirit, end this Attack Phase.
When This Spirit Attacks (Lv. 2-3): BRILLIANCE <Special Topaz Ability>
When the Battle Phase ends, all Spell Cards you used for this battle return to your hand.
"The only ones who can understand me are the Angels. They can truly sense one's pain." ——Rolo the Wanderer, Otherrealm Observation Records: Topaz Chapter, Section 10
<<Translator's Note: "Dynamis/Dunamis" is an Ancient Greek word meaning "potential," "strength," or "ability.">>
—————
[SD02-004] HAKUTAKU THE DIVINE BEAST {4} -2T
The SacredBeast Haktak
(神獣ハクタク Shinjuu Hakutaku)
Uncommon Topaz Spirit [T] Imaginary Beast
Level 1 <1>: 4000BP, Level 2 <2>: 5000BP, Level 3 <3>: 7000BP

TRIBUTE SUMMON: 3+ Core Cost —> Trash
After paying the traditional Summoning Core Cost, you must move all the Cores of a Spirit that meets these aspects to the location specified in order to Summon this Spirit.
When Summoned (Lv. 1-2-3): Choose either the "Imaginary Beast" or the "Beast Head" Attribute, then draw one card for every Spirit of that Attribute on your Field.
During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 2-3): When an opposing 4-Cost-or-lower Spirit blocks your Spirit, refresh one Tribute Summon Spirit on your Field.
A very important secret has been unveiled! Hakutaku holds the Key of the Beast Kingdom!
<<Translator's Note: A hakutaku ("bái zé" in Mandarin Chinese) is a fantastical beast in Japanese mythology known for its intelligence and expertise in medicinal herbs.>>
—————
[SD02-005] CHERUBIM THE ANGEL {5} -3T
The Angelia Cherubim
(天使ヘルヴィム Tenshi Heruvimu)
Rare Topaz Spirit [T] Divine Spirit
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <2>: 4000BP, Level 3 <3>: 6000BP

When Summoned (Lv. 1-2-3): Draw one card for every Topaz Gem Symbol on your Field; if any Spell Cards appear, choose one and place it in your hand. Return the remaining cards in any order you wish to the bottom of your deck.
During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 2-3): When your attacking Spirit has the Special Topaz Ability BRILLIANCE, treat all opposing Spirits that block it as "Level 1 Spirits."
When This Spirit Attacks (Lv. 3): BRILLIANCE <Special Topaz Ability>
When the Battle Phase ends, all Spell Cards you used for this battle return to your hand.
How do you call forth Hakutaku, you ask? Just leave everything to me!
—————
[SD02-012] THE GATES OF HEAVEN {3} -2T
The Heaven's Door
(天の城門 Ten no Joumon)
Uncommon Topaz Nexus [T]
Level 1 <0>, Level 2 <1>

During Your Opponent's Attack Phase (Lv. 1-2): When you are about to lose a Life Core due to an opposing non-Tribute-Summon Level 1 Spirit's attack, discard one card from the top of your deck. If the discarded card is a Spirit, you take no Direct Damage; also if the card is a Tribute Summon, add it to your hand.
During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 2): When any Tribute Summon Spirit of yours attacks, they cannot be blocked by opposing Spirits at the same Battle Level as those Spirits or lower.
"The great gates of legend that can only be opened with seven keys. What would happen should those gates open...?" ——Rolo the Wanderer, Otherrealm's Thousand Scenic Sites: Entry No. 107
—————
[SD02-015] FRIENDLY POWER {3} -2T
Friendly Power
(フレンドリーパワー Furendorii-Pawaa)
Common Topaz Spell

Flash Timing: Choose one of your Spirits; for the duration of this turn, that Spirit gains +1000BP for every Spirit on your Field with the same Attribute.
—————
[SD02-016] WING BOOTS {4} -3T
Wing Boots
(ウィングブーツ Wingu-Buutsu)
Rare Topaz Spell

Flash Timing: Choose one of your Spirits. For the duration of this turn, during the battle decision phase when this Spirit's Battle Level is greater than that of the opposing blocking Spirit, ignore Battle Point difference and treat the situation as if your opponent never blocked.

The Sapphire half of this deck will be in my next post. Stay tuned! Smile

We now continue with the Sapphire cards!

[SD02-006] WEASEVE, ASSASSIN WEASEL {0}
The Assassin Weaseve
(鼬の暗殺者ウィゼーブ Itachi no Ansatsusha Wizeebu)
Common Sapphire Spirit [S] Beast Head
Level 1 <1>: 1000BP, Level 2 <2>: 2000BP

When Destroyed (Lv. 2): Choose a Nexus Card from your Trash; you can now set this Nexus on the Field without paying its Core Cost.
We are now at an interval. They are quietly repairing the equipment facility after it got damaged from the harsh tournament.... And no, I'm not trying to be fancy with my speech.
—————
[SD02-007] CANINE GUARD BERNARD {2} -1S
The DogPoliceman Bernald
(犬兵バーナルド Kenhei Baanarudo)
Common Sapphire Spirit [S] Beast Head
Level 1 <1>: 2000BP, Level 2 <3>: 4000BP

During Your Opponent's Attack Phase (Lv. 1-2): When this Spirit is exhausted, it can still block all opposing Spirits with a Core Cost of 3 or less.
"They said this will be a team battle, but usually when it comes to distance-throwing contests, the bigger you are, the greater the advantage. Looking at the competitors assembled, none of them have enough girth on them to make a significant difference. Having a "Battle Ball" setting would have been a much wiser choice..." ——Rolo the Wanderer, Otherrealm Observation Records: Sapphire Chapter, Section 4
—————
[SD02-008] GRHINOS, RHINO MUSKETEER {3} -2S
The RhinoMousquetair Grhinos
(犀銃士グライノス Saijuushi Gurainosu)
Common Sapphire Spirit [S] Beast Head
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <3>: 5000BP

When This Spirit Attacks (Lv. 1-2): Destroy an opposing Spirit with a Core Cost of 1 or less.
When This Spirit Attacks (Lv. 2): ASSAULT (1) <Special Sapphire Ability>
During this turn for the number of times stated above, you can exhaust one Nexus in order to refresh this Spirit.
"The Single-Horn Sovereign rushes to battle.... The words of that message give hope and strength to a defensive line once mired in the threat of defeat." ——Rolo the Wanderer, Otherrealm Observation Records: Sapphire Chapter, Section 10
<<Translator's Note: That's "musketeer" as in gun-wielder (muskets), not the famous swordsmen. Just to let you know... Razz >>
—————
[SD02-009] BEAST COMMANDER KUJARTHA {5} -3S
The BeastCommander Kuyultha
(獣将軍クジャルタ Juushougun Kujaruta)
Common Sapphire Spirit [S] Beast Head/Soldier
Level 1 <1>: 4000BP, Level 2 <3>: 6000BP

(Lv. 1-2): When this Spirit is sacrificed for a Tribute Summon, by returning this Spirit to your hand, treat the situation as if you already transferred this Spirit's Cores to the designated area.*
(Lv. 2): This Spirit and all your Tribute Summon Spirits gain the following effect: "When in Battle: This Spirit gains +2000BP."
Ever heard of a "double-edged sword"? This guy is a living definition of the term as he knows everything about strong weapons. If he gets taken into an enemy camp, things will turn nasty real quick!
<<*Translator's Note: In other words, you will have fulfilled the requirements for a Tribute Summon simply by returning Kujartha to your hand. Most likely any Cores that were on him at the time would go back to your Reserve in this case.>>
—————
[SD02-010] LÖWEN THE ROARING SWORDSMASTER {6} -2S
The RoaringSwordsmaster Lowen
(轟剣士レーヴェン Goukenshi Reeven)
Master Rare Sapphire Spirit [S] Beast Head/Soldier
Level 1 <1>: 5000BP, Level 2 <4>: 8000BP, Level 3 <5>: 9000BP

When Summoned (Lv. 1-2-3): Destroy one opposing Spirit each with a Core Cost of 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4.
When This Spirit Attacks (Lv. 2-3): ASSAULT (1) <Special Sapphire Ability>
During this turn for the number of times stated above, you can exhaust one Nexus in order to refresh this Spirit.
During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 3): All your Spirits with the Special Sapphire Ability ASSAULT gain +3000BP.
Nothing less than expected from one of the legendary champions! He wields enough power to rival that of an entire Oblivion Army fleet!
<<Translator's Note: This Spirit's name is based off the German word for "lion" (Löwe).>>
—————
[SD02-011] BAHAMUND, PRINCE OF BEASTS {6} -4S
The BeastPrince Bahamunt
(獣皇子バハムンド Juu'ouji Bahamundo)
Uncommon Sapphire Spirit [S] Beast Head/Soldier
Level 1 <1>: 4000BP, Level 2 <3>: 7000BP, Level 3 <4>: 8000BP

TRIBUTE SUMMON: 3+ Core Cost —> Trash
After paying the traditional Summoning Core Cost, you must move all the Cores of a Spirit that meets these aspects to the location specified in order to Summon this Spirit.
When Summoned (Lv. 1-2-3): Look at your opponent's hand and choose one Spell Card; that card must now be discarded.
During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 2-3): Your opponent cannot use the effects of any Spell Cards that are the same Gem Color(s) as the Spell Cards currently in his/her Trash.
The previous champion of the track-and-field torunament is also a member of the Eastern Kingdom's imperial family... Having him lead the East's military force to battle against the Oblivion Army would be tremendous!
—————
[SD02-013] ALTAR OF TRIBUTE {3} -2S
The Generate Altar
(転召の祭壇 Tenshou no Saidan)
Common Sapphire Nexus [S]
Level 1 <0>, Level 2 <1>

(Lv. 1-2): When your opponent Summons a non-Tribute-Summon Spirit with a Core Cost of 3 or less, he/she must pay one more extra Core.
During Your Main Phase (Lv. 2): When you Summon a Tribute Summon Spirit to the Field, all Spirits with the same Attribute(s) as the Summoned Spirit gain a Core Cost increase of +3.
"This is apparently where tribute rituals take place. You would think that civilization has advanced by now, yet ancient customs like this still remain. What a mysterious world this is...." ——Rolo the Wanderer, Otherrealm's Thousand Scenic Sites: Entry No. 559
—————
[SD02-014] MAGIC SURVEILLANCE TOWER {3} -2S
The Magic Control Tower
(魔法監視塔 Mahou Kanshitou)
Uncommon Sapphire Nexus [S]
Level 1 <0>, Level 2 <3>
{{WARNING!! As of 01 September 2011, this card has gained "LEGENDARY Status," thus banning it from legal tournament play.}}

(Lv. 1-2): When a Nexus of yours is destroyed, move one Core from your Field or your Reserve to your Trash in order to bring back the destroyed Nexus to the Field in the same position it was before.
(Lv. 2): When your opponent uses the effects of a Spell Card, you can negate those effects. Afterwards, return this Nexus to the bottom of your deck.
"Countless towers like this are built all over the Sapphire World. They extract and store ether from the atmosphere, then send it out to the land." ——Rolo the Wanderer, Otherrealm's Thousand Scenic Sites: Entry No. 291
—————
[SD02-017] STRONG DRAW {3} -2S
Strong Draw
(ストロングドロー Sutorongu-Doroo)
Uncommon Sapphire Spell

Main Phase: Draw 3 cards, then discard 2 cards from your hand.
Flash Timing: For the duration of this turn, one of your Spirits gains +3000BP.

Wait a minute... That's only 17 cards... Where are the last four? That's where the Splash Cards come in, next post!

Post  Smash Spirit Sun Aug 14, 2011 8:59 pm

Well, Bolmeteus, I'm not sure what exactly it is you're looking for, but if it's proof that Starter Decks exist in Battle Spirits, Bandai's official Japanese website lists all of the ones they made so far since the beginning [www.battlespirits.com/product/starter]. They all should be listed on the left. Starting with the two Starter Sets that were lumped together with the Base Set 01, they've done at least twelve different ones, many of them based on anime character themes. Places like Amazon should have most if not all of these available. Smile

Sure, this is mainly a Sapphire/Topaz deck, but that doesn't mean we're leaving the other Gem Colors alone... Enter the Splash Cards!

[SD02-018] BRAVE COLONEL DRAGRON {3} -2R
The BraveColonel Dragron
(猛将ドラグロン Moushou Doraguron)
Common Ruby Spirit [R] Dragon
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <3>: 4000BP, Level 3 <4>: 5000BP

(Lv. 1-2-3): When this Spirit is sacrificed for a Tribute Summon, destroy two opposing non-Tribute-Summon Spirits with 4000BP or less.
Going as far as self-sacrifice to make a name for himself in battle, he's like an impatient moron with whom you could strike a bad bargain with.
—————
[SD02-019] SCHWART THE BLACK KNIGHT {3} -2A
The DarkKnight Schwart
(黒騎士シュヴァルト Kurokishi Shuvaruto)
Common Amethyst Spirit [A] Evil Shadow
Level 1 <1>: 2000BP, Level 2 <2>: 3000BP, Level 3 <3>: 4000BP

(Lv. 1-2-3): When this Spirit is sacrificed for a Tribute Summon, send 2 Cores from every opposing non-Tribute-Summon Spirit to your opponent's Trash.
Those who have fallen into despair have reached a conclusion: if they are to die, they shall do so with honor.
<<Translator's Note: This Spirit's name is based on the German word for "black" (Schwartz).>>
—————
[SD02-020] JEWELG OF THE RAINBOW WINGS {3} -2E
The RainbowWings Jewelg
(虹翼のジュエルグ Kouyoku no Juerugu)
Common Emerald Spirit [E] Shellman
Level 1 <1>: 3000BP, Level 2 <3>: 4000BP

(Lv. 1-2): When this Spirit is sacrificed for a Tribute Summon, add 2 Cores from the Void to your Reserve.
Ever heard of the Japanese term "yorishiro"? No, it does not mean "whiter than white." It refers to when a spiritual being descends into your body making you stronger.
—————
[SD02-021] SEIDRILL THE MECHABEAST {3} -2D
The BeastMachine Sai-Drill
(獣機セイ・ドリル Juuki Sei-Doriru)
Common Diamond Spirit [D] Machine Beast
Level 1 <1>: 2000BP, Level 2 <2>: 4000BP

(Lv. 1-2): When this Spirit is sacrificed for a Tribute Summon, return one opposing non-Tribute-Summon Spirit with 5000BP or less to the top of your opponent's deck.
The Invaders' tool of destruction: a vortex enveloping both friend and foe. The ability to create such a deadly tempest is a power most sinister.

Wow... That took shorter than expected... Surprised Starter Set 02 is now complete! Waai~ Very Happy Usually it's a bad thing to press your luck too far, but under the circumstances I could see myself finishing the next set by this time next weekend (or sooner?!), so I'll just go ahead and say it!

Battle Spirits JPN Starter Set II: "ROARING HEAVEN'S DOOR" [COMPLETE!!] Empty Re: Battle Spirits JPN Starter Set II: "ROARING HEAVEN'S DOOR" [COMPLETE!!]

Post  Smash Spirit Mon Aug 15, 2011 4:35 pm

Actually when doing my translations yesterday, I did stumble across this Japanese Battle Spirits card search site:

www.kotetsu.info/BattleSpirits/Search.php

This site holds written text information and enlargeable pictures for all 1,623 cards released so far (as of today, most likely will update as time goes on). And if you want something even larger, well here's what happened yesterday.

While I was translating the text for each card from a text-only Japanese wiki, I used Google Images to search for each card just to see what the cards looked like and get a feel for the intended meaning behind the names and abilities. When I looked up [SD02-021] Seidrill the Mechabeast, I accidentally clicked on the image that was marked "kotetsu.info", which led me to this mini-website:

Clicking on the link that says「バトスピカード検索へ戻る」(BatoSupi kaado kensaku e modoru, "Return to Battle Spirits card search") will take you to the site I mentioned at the beginning of this post. The picture provided for the card was huge, almost as tall as my computer monitor screen! Suffice to say, "Me wa SHOCK!" Shocked Shocked Shocked (Fist of the North Star reference) Just replace the part I marked in red with the official card number of any card you wish to see [basically what I put in closed brackets in my translations], and you're pretty much golden! Very Happy
Unfortunately, as with most other websites, visibility can be a bit of an issue when dealing with foil cards...

haha that happened to me too. i translated ALL MY CARDS USING THE GOOGLE TRANSLATOR TO TRANSLATE THE CARDS IN KOTETSU.INFO. THATS A REALLY SWEET SITE. though it doesnt have all the pics. for example using the link you gave it doesnt give BS08-036 The MachineDeity Inphenit-Wols. but it has like 99.9% of all the other cards.
