The battle against the invading Ultimate creatures ascends to the next level with Battle Spirits' twenty-fifth expansion set, Ultimate Battle 02! Released just this past Saturday (11 January 2014), this 97-card set boasts a whopping fourteen X-Rare cards (45 Commons/18 Uncommons/12 Rares/8 Master Rares/8 X-Rares + 6 Extra Promo X-Rares)! Here are some interesting side-facts: this is the first set since Set 09 "Supernova Supremacy" to not only not have a single Brave Card in it, but also to not have any "vanilla cards" (cards with no special effects written).

Ultimate Battle 02 introduces a plentiful bounty of new keyword abilities, so strap yourselves in, folks!
* "EXTREME RAGE" (Original Japanese: 真・激突 Shin-Gekitotsu, "True Clash"): An enhanced version of Rage that forces your opponent to block an attack with an unexhausted Spirit or Ultimate.
* "IMPERVIOUSNESS" (Original Japanese: 超装甲 Chou-Soukou, "Super Armor"): The fourth level of Immunity that makes your cards invincible against all enemy Spirits, Nexus, Spells, and even Ultimates! But be careful: this does not protect you against the effects of enemy Brave Cards....
* "BLITZ SUMMON" (Original Japanese: 招雷 Shourai, "Calling Thunder"): A new form of summoning exclusive to "Fighting Spirit" Attribute Sapphire Cards. Discard one Spirit to Blitz Summon an even stronger one in its place! "Chain Summoning" is now possible with this new mechanic!
* Last, but certainly not least, Ultimates get a major boost in power with the introduction of the Ultimate Trigger's next stage, the Critical Hit!! Think of this as sort of a Darkness RUSH Combo for Ultimates. After the Ultimate Trigger successfully hits, if your opponent's revealed card matches the requirements stated on your Ultimate's Trigger, an additional effect occurs! (Conditions will vary depending on the card.)

We've gathered more and more data on the Ultimates over the past three months. There were even Spirits who followed the Ultimates' side after experiencing their overwhelming strength. That couldn't be helped, of course; that was the only option they had to protect their weaker selves. Now after compiling so much data, it's finally our turn to make a move and begin the process to restore peace. We must get back to the Grand Council quickly.

I can't help but notice a certain detail everyone else seems to be missing.... Is it just me, or is the floating continent coming slowly closer to the ground...? No, coming up with anti-Ultimate strategies is the first priority.

Everyone else has differing opinions: the leader thinks the rules of battle hold the key while Ozzania thinks that all you need is fighting spirit; Flick says such a thing is useless. On the topic of Guardian Generals, my brother was also chosen as a potential candidate. I was frustrated, but I'm glad he didn't make the cut. I worry about him.

Regarding what Larten is like, I'd say he's more of the... um, not-yet-mature, playful, toasting type? Considering that he doesn't put enough clear messages in his "lyrics," he focuses too much on rhyming... Huh? That was too strange a description?? And what's with that exasperated look—H-hey! Don't run away...!

During Your Attack Phase (Lv. 2): When your opponent loses a Life Core from an attack by one of your Spirits with "Byakugarou" in its name, send another one of his/her Life Cores to his/her Reserve.
Dandelions are more precious in smaller sizes, I believe. Giant ones are, well.... I guess they get points for individuality.... Huh? Wait, this is not a dandelion?? Yikes, it's an actual LION!!

This is probably the shortest time I have ever taken to complete a set! Whew! But if you thought Ultimate Battle 02 was full of amazing surprises with its Ultimate Triggers and Critical Hits, "Ultimate Battle 03" (coming late March 2014) will knock your socks off!!

* Ichibanhoshi-no-Rei's newest ace card makes its debut—complete with "DUAL Ultimate Triggers"!
* All-new Spell Cards get equipped with Ultimate Gem Core Cost Reduction Symbols!
* The six cute campaign X-Rares from this set will turn into powerful Ultimates?!

Actually no, Bolmeteus, I almost never use the English wiki as a reference; I use the Battle Spirits Japanese home page and a Japanese wiki (shown below) to get my information, which I then manually translate into English, flavor text and all.

may i ask for little error check, i think a (LV.1) when attacks text part is missing in this spirit translation:

[BS25-051] GIANT DEITY JUNIUS:

this needs also added the LV.1 when summoned text-part.

i don#t want sound picky, but if a BS card has that text printed, we should have best possible translation print;-)

Your sharp eyes strike again, Bolmeteus! There was a "Level 3" notation where there should not have been. In fact, upon closer inspection, Nix the Little Phoenix, Train the Android and Panzer the Beast Kid all had the exact same mistake! I suppose I was in a blind, ignorant rush...  Razz
All three cards have been corrected accordingly.
